摘  要: We will discuss how some easily stated number theoretic problems can be approached using rigidity properties of unipotent flows on some homogeneous spaces, known as Ratner's theorems and proved in early 1990s. This talk will be of introductory nature and no previous acquaintance with homogeneous dynamics will be assumed.
